Queensland have won the toss and elected to bat in their top of the table Sheffield Shield clash with Western Australia starting at the Gabba on Monday.
WA’s Shaun Marsh will be desperate to strike form after being relegated to Shield cricket following a horror run with the bat for Australia.
Marsh made only 17 runs in seven innings against India, including a second-ball duck in Friday night’s Twenty20 loss at the MCG.
Ladder leaders Queensland will be led by wicketkeeper Chris Hartley with regular captain James Hopes (knee) and one-day skipper Peter Forrest (international duty) unavailable.
Bulls quick Ben Cutting returns to Shield duties for the first time since suffering a side strain in December.
The Bulls are on top of the Shield ladder with 30 points and can take another confident stride toward booking a final spot with success against second-placed WA (20 points).
