Queensland bowled out for 205 v Tas

Queensland have been bowled out for a first innings 205 in the Sheffield Shield match against Tasmania at Bellerive.

Resuming at 9-195 after rain delayed the start on day two, Alister McDermott was the last man out, lbw to Jackson Bird for 17.

Ben Cutting finished unbeaten on 79, including seven fours and four sixes.

Bird claimed career-best figures of 6-62.

The Bulls have Cutting to thank for rescuing them from a precarious 8-89 on day one and will get their chance with the ball on a green strip under cloudy skies if drizzle in Hobart clears later on Saturday.

The Tigers will be without in-form captain George Bailey for at least day three after he was called into Australia’s one-day squad for Sunday’s match against India.

Fourth-placed Shield holders Tasmania are desperate for maximum points to keep them in the hunt for the competition’s final.
