England allrounder Ravi Bopara has joined compatriots Chris Tremlett and Michael Lumb in signing with Twenty20 Big Bash League franchise the Sydney Sixers.
The Sixers confirmed the recruitment of Bopara on Saturday, with the 28-year-old to warm up for England’s limited-overs series against Australia by playing the first half of the BBL while Tremlett is on Ashes duty.
“The Sixers are famous throughout the cricketing world and I’m privileged to have the opportunity to represent them,” Bopara said in a statement.
Bopara is a mainstay of England’s limited-overs side, having played a total of 94 one-day internationals since debuting in 2007 at the SCG.
