Jesse Ryder’s availability for the New Zealand cricket tour of England remains unclear following a meeting with national coach Mike Hesson.
In-form batsman Jesse Ryder revealed over the weekend he will continue his self-imposed exile from the national team during England’s tour of New Zealand in February and March.
He met Hesson on Tuesday to discuss his longer-term plans but manager Aaron Klee said the outcome of the meeting will remain private.
Klee will not discuss Ryder’s future beyond Wellington’s domestic campaign, where the hard-hitting 28-year-old is enjoying a golden summer.
Ryder is available for selection on the Indian Premier League auction this weekend and is likely to be selected.
The IPL finishes in late May, overlapping with the majority of the Black Caps’ tour of England, including both Tests.
Ryder could become available for the subsequent Champions Trophy one-day tournament hosted by England in June, followed by two Twenty20 matches against the English later that month.
