Warriors score 9-248 against Bushrangers

West Australian opener Liam Davis fell just short of a century as the Warriors compiled 9-248 in their one-day clash with Victoria at the WACA Ground.

Davis cracked 10 fours and a six as he made his way to 93 before edging John Hastings through to wicketkeeper Peter Handscomb in the 39th over.

Marcus North (38) and Nathan Coulter-Nile (42 not out off 31 balls) chipped in with handy scores, but it was the fine work of Davis which provided the glue for WA’s competitive total.

Victorian paceman Hastings, making his first competitive appearance for the Bushrangers in more than a year after finally overcoming a serious shoulder injury, finished with 4-59 from 13 overs, while one-Test England speedster Darren Pattinson snared 2-61.

Warriors newcomer Will Bosisto endured a forgettable debut, lasting just five balls before being run-out for a duck in a bad mix-up with Mitch Marsh.

Opener Shaun Marsh (7) and Tom Triffitt (8) also failed to fire, while Sam Whiteman (18) looked solid until Alex Keath took a sharp catch at square leg.

The Bushrangers entered the match minus five players on international Twenty20 duties, while pacemen Peter Siddle and James Pattinson were also left out in a bid to leave them fresh for the coming Sheffield Shield clash.
