After a year off, Formula 1 has returned to Monaco, its most iconic circuit and one that has been very good to Daniel Ricciardo.
The COVID reshuffle took Monaco off the 2020 calendar, with Lewis Hamilton winning the last one in 2019, but the world champ has hardly dominated here, winning just twice in the last seven races.
Max Verstappen has also struggled, finishing 4th, 9th and 5th at the last three races, while Daniel Ricciardo has been on the podium in four of the past seven races and was victorious in 2018.
Monaco is a tight street circuit where it’s difficult to overtake, so qualifying is incredibly important.
Monaco Grand Prix Best Bet
Lewis Hamilton Outright Betting – $2.50
You can look at the Monaco GP history as much as you want, but the reality is that Hamilton is driving incredibly well and in fact, you almost get the feeling that the other drivers are resigned to the fact that he’s headed for yet another world title. Unless he has a (highly unlikely) poor performance in qualifying, Hamilton is still your Best Bet.
Monaco Grand Prix Next Best
Max Verstappen Outright Betting – $2.25
Despite his poor record at Monaco, the Drivers Championship is still a two-man race at this point and to be honest, if Verstappen ends up on pole, the Best Bet and Next Best could be swapped.
Monaco Grand Prix Value Bet
Charles Leclerc Overall Qualification Winner – $8.00
Leclerc has had awful luck on his home circuit and in fact, has never seen a chequered flag here in four races (F1 and F2). But after a stunning second practice session, the Ferrari driver heads into qualifying full of confidence. He may not have race pace, but he could land an overdue pole position.
Monaco Grand Prix Ricciardo Bet
Daniel Ricciardo Top Six Finish – $1.80
It hasn’t been an easy adjustment at McLaren for Ricciardo, but when you look at his record at Monaco, you’d be silly to write him off. As previously mentioned, qualifying is crucial so keep an eye on what the Aussie does on Saturday.
