Adam Scott’s odds of becoming just the second player to achieve the triple crown of Australian golf are firming, with punters rallying behind the Queenslander to emulate the 2005 effort of Robert Allenby.
Since Scott’s first Australian PGA Championship victory last weekend at Royal Pines, the US Masters Champion’s odds of winning the triple crown have firmed from $34 into $13 at Sportingbet.com.au.
“Scott’s in the form of his life and with that green jacket now in his wardrobe he’s playing with a stack of confidence,” Sportingbet’s Andrew Brown said.
“He’s a clear-cut favourite to win this weekend’s Talisker Australian Masters and should he prevail he’ll start the favourite for the Australian Open,” Brown said.
Scott is $3.50 at Sportingbet to win the Talisker Masters ahead of Matt Kuchar at $8 and Marc Leishman at $17.
