Kiwi Lee heads field at Pebble Beach golf

Young New Zealand rookie Danny Lee produced two eagles in a nine-under-par 63 to share the lead after the first round of the US PGA Tour’s Pebble Beach National Pro-Am.

The 21-year-old Lee shot his 63 on the Pebble Beach course to be tied with Americans Dustin Johnson (63) and Charli Wi, who shot his nine-under 61 on the Monterey Peninsula course.

They led by one shot from Americans Ken Duke and Brian Harman.

Aaron Baddeley and Nathan Green were the leading Australians, tied 15th and four-under alongside Tiger Woods, after rounds of 66 at Monterey Peninsula.
