Lunn shares lead at the Dutch Open golf

Karen Lunn was in a four-way share of the lead after the opening round of the Dutch Ladies Open on Friday.

The Australian shot four-under 68 along with England’s Florentyna Parker, German Steffi Kirchmayr and Elena Giraud of france at Golf Club Broekpolder on the outskirts of Rotterdam.

Playing under sunny skies in the afternoon, Lunn finished strongly with three birdies in her last five holes after a solitary birdie at the sixth on the front nine.

“Really, really happy,” said Lunn, who earned her 10th Ladies European Tour victory at the Lalla Meryem Cup in Morocco two months ago.

“It was more consistent. I hit a couple of bad tee shots the first couple of holes and made good pars.”

German rookie Kirchmayr also had a bogey-free round.

England’s Hannah Burke and Italian Diana Luna were a shot further back on three under.

The group at two under included European order of merit leader Christel Boeljon from the Netherlands and Australian Alison Whitaker.
