The 105th PGA Championship tees off at Oak Hill Country Club in Pittsford, New York early on Friday morning AEST, and we are set for another thrilling Major.
For only the second time this year, the best players from the PGA Tour will go iron-to-iron with 18 players from LIV Golf, and if The Masters was any indication, it will be one to remember.
At The Masters, we managed to find Jon Rahm at a $10 quote, while Brooks Koepka also gave us a great sight at a huge price ($41).
Just like that occasion, I’ve run the rule over the entire field and provided my selections for the best PGA Tour players, best LIV players, and provided my selection for the best Aussie hopeful below.
I’ve also put together another Golf Same Game Multi, available right here at Neds!
PGA Tips
Jon Rahm ($8.50)
He did the job for us at The Masters, and I don’t see any reason why we should jump off Jon Rahm as he bids for a third career major.
The 28-year-old has maintained his position towards the top of golf’s rankings for a few seasons now, and it is fair to say that his performance at Augusta last month was amongst the best of his career.
The Masters was Rahm’s fourth tournament victory of the season, and given that he only just missed at the Mexican Open at his most-recent appearances, his form is clearly still holding.
Scottie Scheffler ($8.50)
Another clear standout in the PGA Championship field that is also echoed in the market is Scottie Scheffler.
I personally cannot remember a rise to prominence as meteoric as Scheffler’s and he really was something else in 2022, winning The Masters most notably, while only just missing at the US Open and adding several other tournaments to his CV.
He has won both the Phoenix Open and The Players Championship most notably this season, while another credible performance at The Masters suggested he is on the cusp of another Major win.
Tyrrell Hatton ($31)
31-year-old Tyrrell Hatton has returned some lovely performances recently and I thought that the $31 about him in PGA Championship betting could prove over the odds.
He is yet to record an elusive Major championship victory and is indeed yet to win on Tour this year, but his recent form has been excellent, and included Top 5 finishes at the Wells Fargo Championship and the AT&T Byron Nelson at his last two appearances.
Hatton is playing with plenty of confidence, and he has arguably never been better positioned to win a Major.
LIV Tips
Brooks Koepka ($19)
Big, Bad Brooks almost pulled off one of the biggest trolls in Golfing history when he led the field into the last day at The Masters, and if not for a final round capitulation, blokes like Rory McIlroy would still be spewing.
Regardless, Koepka’s form recently has been a whole let better, and he is a fitting $19 top elect for the LIV Players in PGA Championship betting.
I’m very confident that, at some point, he’ll win a Major while on the LIV Tour, and why not in New York??
Talor Gooch ($51)
Talor Gooch is almost certainly THE form player on the LIV Tour currently, and boy do I like the look of the $51 about him in PGA Championship betting (at publish).
Gooch led the recent LIV Australian tournament in Adelaide from start to finish and he franked that effort by winning in Singapore the following week.
PGA Championship betting suggests that nothing is expected of him this week, and that seems to be when he does his best work.
Best Aussie Tip
Jason Day ($23)
He broke a drought of more than five years at last week’s AT&T Byron Nelson, and Jason Day therefore takes all of the momentum into the 2023 PGA Championship.
A PGA Championship winner back in 2015, it has been a pretty gruelling few years for the 35-year-old Australian, but his performance, undoubtedly highlighted by his composure on the final day last weekend suggested that he has returned to vintage form.
2023 PGA Championship Same Game Multi $25.11
- Jon Rahm (Top 5)
- Tyrrell Hatton (Top 20)
- Talor Gooch (Top 20)
