American golfer Brandt Snedeker claimed the US PGA Tour event at Torrey Pines in California after a late meltdown by compatriot Kyle Stanley.
Snedeker won in a sudden-death play-off after Stanley posted a triple-bogey eight on the last hole of regulation, giving up a three-shot lead.
Stanley had led by as many as seven strokes early in the final round but imploded to hand Snedeker the win.
Rod Pampling was the best-placed Australian in a tie for eighth, six shots off the leaders.
