Punters are looking for value in tomorrow’s Sportingbet Cox Plate with the top three favourites in betting all big drifters at Sportingbet.
Favourite It’s A Dundeel has eased from $4 out to $4.4, Puissance De Lune $4.2 out to $5 and Fiorente $4.2 out to $6.50.
“The punters have shunned the big three, it’s amazing to think that It’s a Dundeel is now the same price as when Atlantic Jewel was in the race and Fiorente is a better price, its crazy,” Sportingbet’s Michael Felgate said
Prior Atlantic Jewel’s scratching on Tuesday, It’s a Dundeel was $4.40 (now $4.40), Puissance De Lune $6 (now $5) and Fiorente $6 (now $6.50).
“Punters are clearly looking for value with a number of big moves all at double-figure odds,” Felgate said.
Three-year olds, Long John and Shamus Award have both been heavily supported.
“Long John has been backed from $10 into $7 and could start shorter than Fiorente, he has been best backed of the favoured runners.”
“Shamus Award has been a huge go and is our worst result. He was $81 after the barrier draw and is now a $21 chance, the money has been constant,” Felgate said.
International galloper Mull Of Killough has also been well backed firming from $81 on Tuesday to $31.
“Mull Of Killough has been an international plunge, we were hit heavily overnight with a number of bets at the same time as the UK bookies were also hit,” Felgate said.
