Australian Cup
The Italian stallion Fiorente dominates betting and sits atop the market as the $2.30 favourite. The Melbourne Cup winner holds three times the amount of money than upstart Shamus Award ($5.00). Thunder Fantasy ($7.50) and Foreteller ($8.00) are the logical threats but like the rest of the field, punters don’t want a bar of them.

Newmarket Handicap
Is the price is right for Samaready after her costly first-up failure? Punters think so as the Mick Price trained mare is second favourite at $4.60 and is easily the best backed. Stablemate Lankan Rupee ($5.00) has fallen to the third line of betting after the go for Samaready. Shamexpress however remains the $4.20 favourite. Punters hungry for value have had a nibble at Moment Of Change ($11), Spirit Of Boom ($19) and Knoydart ($12). Sportsbet.com.au is paying 4th place on the Newmarket.
Blamey Stakes
The march continues for Sertorious, who’s gone from $3.30 into $3.10 favourite and holds 60 percent of turnover. Nothing has been convincingly backed to beat him, although there’s been some support for Desert Jeuney ($19 into $17) after the Nigel Blackiston camp made some gear changes.
Kewney Stakes
Solicit is doing just that with punters’ cash. The talented filly is well backed and firmed into $1.95 after $2.05 was available yesterday. Miss Rose De Lago ($8.50) is steady but is the one they’ve called out to beat Solicit, having attracted a similar amount of money as short priced favourite. Star Fashion is also a shortener, moving from $13 into $11.

Chipping Norton Stakes
If weight of money is any guide, It’s A Dundeel will start his campaign on a winning note. Punters have not been sheepish, smashing the champion Kiwi from $2.00 into $1.90. Not surprisingly, out of form Boban has eased from $3.70 to $3.80. Punters haven’t even considered anything else in the field as a hope of beating It’s A Dundeel.
Liverpool City Cup
Punters have not needed a pin to find the winner here, with El Roca $3.20 favourite just ahead of White Sage ($3.40). From their perspective it looks a race in two between with the duo attracting equal support which is twice as much as any other runner. Respect must be given to Riva De Lago with the Chris Waller runner firming from $34 into $26. Terravista ($4.00) is unwanted.
Wiggle Stakes
Appears there is no mail for Dear Demi ($16) and she’s been friendless. Proven wet-tracker Catkins is the solid favourite at $2.60 and alongside Fire Up Fifi ($8.00 into $7.00) are the only two runners punters are coming for. The pair have attracted around 80% of all money staked on the race.
Surround Stakes
Guelph ($2.90) and Sweet Idea ($3.40) will fight this out according to punters. Guelph is the best backed, holding three times the money than Sweet Idea, who’s holding double than the thirs best backed Arabian Gold ($17). Chris Waller’s runners often spoil the party, but the best priced of his four runners, Chateau Lafaite ($10), has been easy.
