The first of the big WFA races through the Brisbane Winter is the G2 AD Hollindale Stakes (1800m) and it is part of a stellar program for the Gold Coast Turf Club holding their meeting on the Sunshine Coast.
Zaaki ($2) chases a three peat of wins in the Hollindale but he’ll have some good opposition from the likes of Zeyrek ($15), Huetor ($15) and Smokin’ Romans ($8).
The G3 Gold Coast Guineas (1200m) kicks off some of the 3yos carnival preps with Yellow Brick ($4.50), Russian Conquest ($15) and Lady Laguna ($4) ones to watch.
Juveniles run in the G3 Ken Russell Memorial Classic (1200m) where a good team of southern youngsters head a long way north to run against the local 2yos.
The Listed Bracelet (1800m) is an important Oaks trial and Silvakia, Sequestered and Renaissance Woman are noteworthy entries.
There is also the Listed Silk Stocking for the F&M and the ATC Cup for the sprinters as well as the sheer speed of the Bat Out Of Hell over 850m.
