Mystic Journey’s trainer Adam Trinder has spoken out about the derogatory calls, emails and text messages he has received after the mares defeat in the Makybe Diva Stakes.
Trinder said he was devastated after he was inundated by derogatory messages regarding his star mares defeat at Flemington on the weekend saying he wanted to take her away and hide her.
The messages and phone calls were all made anonymously after the persons got his contact info from his website.
“All from blocked numbers – stuff like she’s a dog, you should dig a hole and shoot her, really derogatory stuff,” he said on RSN.
“I couldn’t believe it. I honestly wanted to take her away and hide her.”
Despite running second as the heavily backed favourite Trinder was happy with the mares run and that she pulled up well and will now head to the G1 Turnbull Stakes on her way to the WFA Cox Plate where she remains the $5 favourite with Ladbrokes.
