Featuring racing extends to Monday this week and we are set for another talent-rich edition of the Group 2 Adelaide Cup!
Won by several star stayers throughout its storied existence, the Adelaide Cup has proven to be a key form race for some of Australia’s biggest staying tests, and it is almost always a terrific betting race.
I’ve had a look into the form of every galloper engaged, and you can find my complete 2023 Adelaide Cup Tips below.
Suggested Bets
- 3 Units straight out #1 Persan
- Boxed Trifecta of the selections below
Adelaide Cup – Winner
There is a chance that his best days are in the rear-view mirror, but I’m still confident that Persan is up to winning the Adelaide Cup, and the booking of Jamie Kah adds further confidence.
Persan has been a great horse for the Maher & Eustace yard for a few seasons now, picking off some nice races and laying a great account of himself at the highest level.
Having won the Listed JRA Trophy at Flemington back in December, the Pierro gelding returned from a fresh up to finish fifth in the Torney Night Cup last month, and I am confident that run will have brought him right back on.
Two miles suits, Kah won this race last year, and I am happy to be with the pair on Monday.
Suggested Bet: No. 1 Persan
Adelaide Cup – 2nd
I’m confident that True Marvel can have an impact in the Adelaide Cup at a lovely price ($11 at publish).
The Masked Marvel gelding has raced well throughout his campaign, but has been particularly eye-catching at his last two, placing in the Torney Night Cup last time out.
I like that he has been kept up to the mark with a trial since that effort, and the booking of Craig Williams adds further confidence.
Suggested Bet: No. 11 True Marvel
Adelaide Cup – 3rd
Aurora’s Symphony takes his place in the Adelaide Cup field following a successful defence of the Launceston Cup, and it does look the next logical step for him to take.
The Glass Harmonium gelding has proven to be an outstanding horse for the Symon Wilde stable throughout his career, and he is faultless this time in, having saluted in the Colac Cup prior to his trip to Tasmania.
I’m not entirely sure if he gets two miles, but he steps out in peak order and arguably, in career-best form, and I think he’ll lay a great account for himself.
Suggested Bet: No. 4 Aurora’s Symphony
Adelaide Cup – 4th
Grand Promenade has opened the early favourite in Adelaide Cup betting, and he too looks ready to produce a smart performance.
The Champs Elysees gelding finished fourth, beaten six lengths over 1800m at Sandown when resuming, but he was far better into third in the Lord Reims here at Morphettville a fortnight ago.
Fitter third-up and under Johnny Allen, he has claims!
Suggested Bet: No. 2 Grand Promenade
