The All Aged Stakes is always one of the standout contests of the Autumn Racing Carnival, and we are set for another huge edition of the Group 1 feature at Royal Randwick on Saturday.
Three-quarters of the All Aged Stakes field have tasted success at the highest level of racing previously, and with so many formed runners engaged, it truly is a mouth-watering prospect.

All Aged Stakes – Winner
After careful consideration, I’ve got the three-year-olds running the All Aged Stakes quinella this year, and Jacquinot looks a nice bit of value in my opinion at his current All Aged Stakes odds ($8 at publish).
I’ve been a fan of the Rubick colt since he made his debut, but that turned into a love during last year’s Spring Carnival when he stormed home to win the Golden Rose.
He returned this year for consecutive wins in the Manfred Stakes and the CF Orr, and he has been freshened since finishing sixth in the Australian Guineas.
I don’t think that there is any doubt that 1400m is his pet trip and he is drawn to receive an ideal run under Chad Schofield.

All Aged Stakes – 2nd
And that means that I have Giga Kick running second in the All Aged Stakes.
Giga Kick stormed onto the Australian racing scene last year, winning each of his first five career starts, peaking in The Everest.
He has had two runs back this time, keeping his best work for late in both the Challenge Stakes and the TJ Smith Stakes, and I’m really keen to see him out to 1400m for the first time this week.
Craig Williams is back from injury and jumps back into the saddle, and Giga Kick is definitely one of the class horses engaged in the 2023 All Aged Stakes field.

All Aged Stakes – 3rd
I thought that the All Aged Stakes could actually prove to be the perfect Group 1 race for Private Eye.
Having won the 2021 Epsom Handicap, Private Eye has actually proven to be an outstanding sprinter throughout his subsequent preparations, and finished second in The Everest in the spring, while adding a couple of lucrative wins to his CV as well.
He was good in the Newmarket first-up and returned a rare flat effort in the TJ last time, but takes further improvement into this race and is another who is drawn to receive a lovely run from an inside draw.
Suggested Bet: No. 3 Private Eye
All Aged Stakes – 4th
Yeah, I guess so!
We haven’t seen Zaaki at the races in 2023 but obviously, his best form would be good enough to see him into the finish.
The multiple Group 1 winner is now an eight-year-old, but his spring prep suggested he is still more than up to our best races and it ended with another win in the Mackinnon Stakes.
He’s had the benefit of a couple of trials in the lead-up to his return, plus the booking of James McDonald does add further confidence.
