Amelia’s Jewel has produced another strong trial at Belmont this morning, as she prepares to head to Melbourne later this week.
The Simon Miller-trained mare had just two rivals in the 1000m trial and ran down leader Big Screen in the closing stages.

Damian Lane, who is booked to ride Amelia’s Jewel in her Melbourne campaign, made the trip to Perth to ride the mare for the first time.
Today’s trial followed her first trial at Lark Hill last month, which she also won.
Amelia’s Jewel’s encouraging trial was a boost for Miller, who revealed to TABradio’s Digby Beacham star filly Live To Tell would miss the upcoming TABtouch-Pinnacles carnival.
Live To Tell, who won the Supremacy Stakes (1000m) and Gimcrack Stakes (1100m) earlier this year, had a setback in the lead up to her return and won’t race until the autumn.
Amelia’s Jewel is set to make her Melbourne debut in the Group 2 Let’s Elope Stakes (1400m) at Flemington on September 16.
