Aurora’s Symphony made it three from three in the apple isle when dominant taking out the Group 3 Hobart Cup on Sunday

Already a dual Launceston Cup winner, Aurora’s Symphony stepped out at Hobart for the first time and had no issues carrying the big weight.

An impressive winner at Flemington in the lead up, trainer Simon Wilde was quick to book him in for a tilt at the feature.

Staying with trainer Glenn Stevenson, Aurora’s Symphony settled in beautifully and he demonstrated that when breaking the track record.

“Simon [Wilde] booked him in about six weeks ago when he won at Flemington, he said we’re coming,” Stevenson said.

“Soon as he got over to the farm he has not missed an oat, he just travelled so well.

“Young Taylor who has come with him, she has done a great job with him, Simon sends them over fit, this bloke just loves it here.”

Ridden by Jordan Childs, Aurora’s Symphony enjoyed the perfect run and clearly appreciated the strong tempo set by race favourite Alhambra Lad.

“It worked out perfectly for us, there was really good speed early, we were able to get into a nice spot just off the fence when passing the winning post for the first time,” Childs said.

“He got into a lovely rhythm and from the 600m I was able to build into it and once I let him go he really quickened up well.

“Simon and the team have certainly got this horse flying.”

On track to create history at Launceston later this month, Aurora’s Symphony will be looking to stretch his winning streak to four in Tasmania.

“He’s a big strong horse, what he did today against those horses, I couldn’t see why he wouldn’t show up again,” Childs said.

“Obviously his form has been good winning at Flemington before coming here today and suspect he’ll be hard to beat at Launceston.”
