Big Field for Railway Stakes 2016

Interstate visitor Mackintosh and local mare Perfect Reflection share favouritism for the Group One Railway Stakes ahead of the barrier draw for the $1 million race in Perth.

A field of 16 plus three emergencies has been declared for Saturday’s Railway Stakes at Ascot with the Grant and Alana Williams-trained Perfect Reflection and Chris Waller-trained Mackintosh at $5.50 in the TAB’s final field market.

The barrier draw takes place later on Tuesday.

Mackintosh is one of two runners for Sydney’s leading trainer along with Good Project who is back for a defence of the race he won last year.

Damien Oliver, chasing his first Railway Stakes win, has the ride on Mackintosh while Hugh Bowman will ride Good Project.

Perfect Reflection, winner of the Lee Steere Stakes last start, is one of four runners for the Williams stable along with Disposition, Heart Starter and Neverland.

The Darren Weir-trained Ragesse is at $6.50.

Kawi, a five-time Group One winner in New Zealand, is topweight with 58.5kg.
