Blue Diamond Stakes 2022 quartet require further examinations

Four of the runners in Melbourne’s premier juvenile race will require further testing before being passed fit to start at Caulfield.

Racing Victoria vets inspected all 16 two-year-olds on Thursday ahead of Saturday’s Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield.

Lofty Strike and Kiki Express both presented with lameness. Lofty Strike in the off-foreleg and Kiki Express in her nearside foreleg.

The well-supported Sebonack had swelling in his right fetlock earlier on Thursday, but Hawkes Racing has since presented a satisfactory ultrasound and x-ray report.

Sebonack will be re-examined as a precaution.

The Peter Moody-trained Rampant Lion shifted a shoe on his near fore on Wednesday night before being reshod on Thursday morning and the colt will also undergo a re-inspection on Friday.

The Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr-trained Jacquinot remains favourite with TAB at $5 ahead of the Peter and Paul Snowden-trained Revolutionary Miss at $6.

Sebonack sits alone on the third line at $7 with Lofty Strike, the one-time second favourite, drifting to the fourth line at $7.50.

Rampant Lion is a $19 chance with Kiki Express an outsider at $34.
