Race 1 – 12:40pm – Benchmark 70 Handicap (1400m)

El Patroness is already a listed winner and Group 3 placed filly and drops significantly in class for this first up assignment.

She will improve on whatever she produces in this race but there is not a whole heap of depth and she has shown a good turn of foot in her races.

Bet Now: Caulfield Race 1

Race 2 – 1:15pm – Benchmark 70 Handicap (1800m)

The Maher and Eustace trained import Worthily made his Australian debut at Flemington first up and while he finished eighth, the run was full of promise.

He was cramped for room down the straight but worked his way in between runners to be beaten just over three lengths on the line.

The step up in distance will suit and he is the horse to beat.

Bet Now: Caulfield Race 2

Race 3 – 1:50pm – Benchmark 78 Handicap (2400m)

Brilliant Venture is an extremely fit and firing race horse right at the moment who has won three of his past five races now.

The five year old is clearly loving his racing as he has been up for a very long time and in fact he has finished in the top four in nine of his last 10.

He couldn’t have been much more impressive when winning by 2.75 lengths at Caulfield last start and he has drawn to get a lovely run in transit from barrier two.

Bet Now: Caulfield Race 3

Race 4 – 2:25pm – Group 3 Chairman’s Stakes (1000m)

Renosu proved himself a promising young colt when placed in both his runs during the spring.

He was first beaten half a length in the Listed Debutant Stakes at Caulfield and then was narrowly denied behind Brereton on Melbourne Cup Day in the Group 3 Maribyrnong Plate.

The runs are on the board and he seems the most obvious pick to me.

Bet Now: Caulfield Race 4

Race 5 – 3:05pm – Group 3 Manfred Stakes (1200m)

Paulele finished his last campaign when 12th in the Group 1 Cooolmore Stud Stakes fown the Flemington straight bu while he was no match for them that day, he is a very talented colt.

Prior to that effort he took out the Group 2 Roman Consul Stakes at Randwick and that form would be good enough to win this race first up.

Lina’s Legend has come up over the odds here at $14 having never missed a place in five career starts.

The son of Teofilo trialed well in the lead up to this first up assignment and is worth an each way bet.

Bet Now: Caulfield Race 5

Race 6 – 3:45pm – Benchmark 78 Handicap (1400m)

Four year old mare Vespertine was beaten narrowly when resuming at Flemington but backed that up with a win at this track a month ago.

The daughter of Epaulette has been placed in seven of her 11 career starts and two of those unplaced runs were at Group level.

Will need some luck from the awkward draw but she is right in a race of this quality.

Bet Now: Caulfield Race 6

Race 7 – 4:25pm – Benchmark 100 Handicap (1800m)

It usually takes a couple of runs before Pancho starts delivering his best and both runs this prep have been full of merit.

He was well beaten behind Dark Dream last start but the five year old gelding drops a couple of kilos for that effort.

He was not on his best behavior that day and with a softer run from barrier four and in a very open race, he represents good value at around the $17 mark.

Bet Now: Caulfield Race 7

Race 8 – 5:05pm – Benchmark 78 Handicap (1100m)

Evening Glory rises significantly in weight from his last start narrow defeat at this track and distance in a benchmark 84 but he will find this much easier than that event.

The Freedman trained son of Smart Missile has been a consistent performer throughout his 22 start career and will again be competitive in this event.

Bet Now: Caulfield Race 8

Race 9 – 5:40pm – Benchmark 78 Handicap (1600m)

The very talented and lightly raced Tuvalu returned to the races with a dominant win at Warrnambool first up when he he led all the way to score by 3.5 lengths.

The son of Kermadec has now won four of six career starts and is yet to miss the top two and although he comes to town, this is a step back in grade.

He’s short but he can finish our day on a winning note.
