Christian Reith suspended

Jockey Christian Reith has been suspended for three weeks over the incident which led to Corey Brown’s recent fall at Gosford.

Brown took a tumble from Rain Alert rounding the home turn in the fifth event at Gosford last Thursday.

He wasn’t seriously injured and bounced back to snare the Group Two Expressway Stakes aboard Rain Affair two days later.

Stewards resumed their inquiry into the incident this week and charged Reith with careless riding.

He will begin his penalty on Monday and can return on March 13, four days before the Group One Randwick Guineas meeting.

Reith has a handy book of rides at Warwick Farm on Saturday including Free Wheeling for Peter Snowden in the Group Two Royal Sovereign Stakes.
