Trainer Kris Lees has six horses and one emergency in his bid to win his hometown Cup at Newcastle for the first time.

A capacity field of 16 plus two emergencies has been declared for Friday’s Group Three Newcastle Cup over 2300m.

The Group Three Cameron Handicap has a field of 16 while the the other Group Three race on the program, the Tibbie Stakes (1400m) for fillies and mares, has 16 plus one reserve.
