G2 winning NZ filly to be sent to Lindsay Park

Group Two-winning New Zealand filly Spanish Whisper is set to join the Lindsay Park stable and will be aimed towards feature races in the spring.

Spanish Whisper won the Group Two Breeders’ Stakes (1200m) at Matamata in February before finishing third in the Group One Sistema Stakes (1200m) at Ellerslie at her most recent start in March.

NZ Racing Desk said bloodstock agent Mark Pilkington had acquired a controlling interest in the rising three-year-old for Seymour Bloodstock, with the filly to be trained by Lindsay Park trainers David and Ben Hayes and Tom Dabernig in Victoria.

The filly’s original owners have retained an interest in the filly.

“She will be heading over to the team at Lindsay Park and we are hopeful she can do big things for us in the spring,” Pilkington told NZ Racing Desk.

Another New Zealand galloper, three-year-old gelding Czechoslovakia, will join the Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young stable at Cranbourne.

Czechoslovakia has won one of his five starts and was fourth in the Group Two Wellington Guineas (1400m) at his most recent start in March.

“I’ve bought him for Seymour Bloodstock and a bunch of my mates, so he will go to Trent and Natalie to get ready for the spring,” Pilkington said.

“I’m not sure what to make of him just yet in respect of what sort of distance he will suit and the like, but we do think he’s another we are going to have a bit of fun with.”
