Unbeaten galloper Glasgow Lass will miss the upcoming Pinnacles carnival, after a setback at trackwork on Saturday.
The filly was set to trial in the next fortnight, ahead of a tilt at the Listed Belgravia Stakes (1200m) at Ascot later this month.
Trainer Mitchell Pateman said while it was disappointing not to have the filly fit for this carnival, he was confident she would be able to race again.
“She’s got a stress fracture in her shoulder, so she will be out for four months,” Pateman told Racing WA Thoroughbreds.
“I’ve gone through all the emotions in the last couple of days and obviously thought the carnival is out of the picture.
“We got the final results today, so she will start her rehab and see how she goes.
“I’m 99 per cent confident Yulong will be able to race on with her if they want to.”
Yulong purchased a majority share in Glasgow Lass earlier this year.
While Pateman won’t be able to saddle up Glasgow Lass during the Pinnacles, he will have Mojo Rhythm and Almighty Class target feature races.
Mojo Rhythm finished ninth to Twain’s Angel in a Belmont trial yesterday and Pateman said he would target the Group 3 Eurythmic Stakes (1400m) on October 19.
Pateman told Racing WA Thoroughbreds last week Almighty Class would resume at Ascot on October 12.
