The Inglis Sires’ has drawn ten quality two-year-olds to Royal Randwick on Saturday, and it will be the first of eight Group 1 races contested during The Championships in 2021.
Won by some of the country’s best ever juveniles, the Inglis Sires’ is the second stop in the two-year-old Triple Crown and Godolphin colt Anamoe has opened a rather firm favourite in betting.
Have I put him on top? Scroll down and check out my 2021 Inglis Sires’ tips below thanks to bookmaker Neds.
Inglis Sires’ – Winner
It’s simply impossible to ignore what he has done so far, and the Inglis Sires’ looks the perfect race for Anamoe.
Having broken his maiden in the Listed Merson Cooper at Sandown in November, the Street Boss colt has gone from strength to strength in four starts back this time, running third in the Neds Blue Diamond, winning the Todman Stakes, and finishing second in the Golden Slipper last time.
When Rachel King jumped off him after the Slipper, she said words to the effect of ‘If he draws a gate, he wins’. He will leave from barrier 5 this weekend and I’m happy to have him on top of my Inglis Sires’ tips.
Inglis Sires’ – 2nd
There also looks to be a pretty clear second pick in Inglis Sires’ betting in Four Moves Ahead.
Four Moves Ahead has had just three trips to the races so far, but stamped herself as a runner to follow when winning each of her first two, including the Group 2 Sweet Embrace Stakes with complete ease.
She was a popular runner in early Golden Slipper betting and returned another impressive effort to finish fourth, albeit well beaten by Stay Inside and Anamoe.
Timmy Clark stays aboard and with even luck, the horse can fight out the finish again.
Inglis Sires’ – 3rd
I think that the bookies have just about got the Inglis Sires’ betting market correct, and Captivant looks up to running a place.
The Capitalist colt has had four starts for a win and a placing, and he returned from a short break this time to finish third in the Skyline Stakes before running a credible fifth in the Golden Slipper last time out.
He looks to be a horse that will relish getting out to 1400m and with Tom Marquand aboard, I’m happy to give him in my numbers.
Inglis Sires’ – 4th
This horse is yet to put a hoof wrong and as long as he handles a switch to the Sydney way of going, I can’t find a reason why he won’t run well again.
Lightsaber stripped fitter with a competitive effort on debut for second at Geelong in January and simply hasn’t looked back, winning each of his three subsequent starts including the Group 2 VRC Sires’ Produce last time out.
The query for me (other than the change in direction) is that I’m not sure he has beaten a whole lot in any of his successful starts, but it is still difficult to argue with winning form regardless.
