Many of the key chances in this race met recently in the Neville Selwood Stakes under set weights and penalties conditions.
Positions and SP that day were 1st Arbeitsam (4.20), 2nd Maurus (21.00), 3rd Almost Court (10.00), Mccreery 4th (14.00).
The lowest rated runner, Almost Court naturally meets all of them much better at the weights (between +2kg and +4kg) yet he’s a longer price relatively to each of those three competitors here.
Granted Arbeitsam went on to run a good race when 3rd in the Doncaster so has certainly stepped again since that effort.
There is plenty of other well credentialed opposition obviously, but I think the winner will come from that Selwood Stakes and Almost Court represents great value.
The barrier isn’t a concern as he should get across ok.
