Dual Group-winning filly Meryl has won a Godolphin-packed barrier trial at Rosehill, beating Golden Slipper winner Kiamichi.
Trained by Lee Curtis, Meryl won Friday’s 900m-heat by a length from Godolphin’s Kiamichi with the Peter and Paul Snowden-trained Gran Rosso another short neck third.
The next five in the eight-horse trial were all from James Cumming’s Godolphin stable – Alizee, Best Of Days, Hartnell, Avilius and Roheryn.
Dual Group One winner Avilius is the second favourite for the Cox Plate while Alizee is in the mix for the $14 million Everest.
Kiamichi is likely to follow the fillies path to the Flight Stakes.
