Melbourne Cup winner Almandin will not run at Sandown with owner Lloyd Williams ruling out a start in the Zipping Classic 2016.
WIlliams has also withdrawn fellow Melbourne Cup runners Bondi Beach and Assign and will make a decision on Gallante later in the week.
Almandin had been the favourite in early markets on Saturday’s Group Two feature.
Trainer Robbie Laing will make a decision on Wednesday whether Victoria Derby fourth-placed So Si Bon runs in the Zippng Classic or the Sandown Guineas against his fellow three-year-olds.
