Miss Promiscuity to line-up in VOBIS Gold Sprint

Miss Promiscuity will be out to snap a year-long absence from the winner’s circle when she returns to Caulfield for a defence of the lucrative VOBIS Gold Sprint.

Nominations for Saturday’s Caulfield meeting, which features a host of VOBIS Gold races, will be released on Tuesday with Miss Promiscuity and Group-winning stablemate Fuhryk to be entered for the $250,000 VOBIS Gold Sprint over 1200m.

Miss Promiscuity won the race a year ago but has gone winless since.

The mare, who is trained by David and Ben Hayes and Tom Dabernig, ran well for fifth in the Group One Oakleigh Plate at Caulfield first-up this preparation before failing on heavy ground in the Group One Galaxy in Sydney last start.

Katelyn Mallyon, who has ridden Miss Promiscuity in her two starts this campaign, will retain the ride on Saturday while Stephen Baster is booked for three-year-old filly Fuhryk who has been freshened since her unplaced finish in the Group One Australian Guineas (1600m).

Fuhryk won the Group Two Kevin Hayes Stakes over the course and distance against her own age and sex two starts ago.

The Listed Bel Esprit Stakes (1100m) is the only stakes race on the rich program and the Lindsay Park team is set to be represented by Faatinah who returns to Caulfield where he finished runner-up in the Oakleigh Plate two starts ago before also failing in the Galaxy.

The Bel Esprit Stakes will be a stepping stone towards the Group One Goodwood (1200m) for Group Two winner Faatinah who finished fifth in the Adelaide race last year.

The former Mick Kent-trained four-year-old Charlevoix is likely to make his debut for the Hayes-Dabernig stable in Saturday’s $250,000 VOBIS Gold Mile (1600m).
