The Queen Anne Stakes is one of three Group 1 feature races on the first day of Royal Ascot this year, and will be contested late on Tuesday night AEST.
A typically smart field of milers has accepted for the 2021 Queen Anne Stakes, but Palace Pier has nothing short of outstanding since making his debut, and is clearly the runner to beat in this race.
I’ve put him on top of my 2021 Queen Anne Stakes Tips, which you can find below.
Queen Anne Stakes – Winner
No. 6 Palace Pier – Bet Now
Palace Pier has stamped himself as one of the worlds’ best middle distance horses and he will take a power of beating in the Queen Anne Stakes.
The Kingman colt has made seven trips to the races for six wins and a third placing, and he enters this off the back of an east win in the Group 1 Lockinge Stakes.
That is typically the form line to follow into this race, but particularly with a horse of this calibre.
Queen Anne Stakes – 2nd
No. 5 Order Of Australia – Bet Now
I’m confident that Order Of Australia will be the ‘best of the rest’ in the Queen Anne Stakes field.
Order Of Australia has been great for Aidan O’Brien since making his debut, and charged in to score in Group 1 company in the United States two starts back, going to the paddock after finishing midfield in the Hong Kong Mile.
O’Brien is famous for travelling his horses from a young age, and it is often the making of them. I for one would not be surprised to see Order Of Australia sticking with Palace Pier all the way.
Queen Anne Stakes – 3rd
No. 11 Top Rank – Bet Now
Top Rank looks ready to do something third-up in the Queen Anne Stakes, and he looks to be a touch of overs at his current $19 quote.
Top Rank has been an above-average performer since making his debut, and he returned to the races this time for a lovely win in Listed company at Doncaster before filling the minors behind Palace Pier in the Lockinge Stakes last time.
Fitter third-up and under the conditions, I can’t find a reason why he won’t be competitive.
Queen Anne Stakes – 4th
No. 3 Lope Y Fernandez – Bet Now
Aiden O’Brien holds a typically strong hand in this race, and Lope Y Fernandez also looks to be a key chance to finish in the Queen Anne Stakes first four.
Lope Y Fernandez is one of the more experienced runners in this contest, and he too resumed this time for a lovely win at Leopardstown before something of a flat effort behind Palace Pier last time out.
I’m happy to forgive that performance and with appropriate luck, he can bounce back.
