Australia’s rich history in the Group 1 Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes continues at Royal Ascot on Saturday night when Artorius, The Astrologist and Cannonball chase a place in the history books.
It has been another outstanding week of action over the UK, and as it always is, the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes represents a fitting curtain closer.
I’ve had a look into the form of every sprinter engaged, and you can find my complete 2023 Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes Tips below.
Suggested Bets
- 4 Units straight out #2 Artorius
- Boxed Trifecta of the selections below
Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes – Winner
If Artorius runs up to his performance in the Canterbury Stakes back in March, he’ll absolutely brain this lot.
The Flying Artie entire has been a great horse throughout his career, winning the Neds Blue Diamond at only start three, and his trip over to the UK last year was clearly an extremely beneficial exercise, given how good his was in the autumn.
He has reportedly travelled well, James McDonald rides, and he is the best horse in the field.
Suggested Bet: No. 2 Artorius
Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes – 2nd
If Artorius isn’t on (which I genuinely think he will be), I think that Art Power looks a competitive chance at a lovely price ($12 at publish).
The Dark Angel gelding has been a consistent performer in the UK’s best sprints throughout his career and has tuned up for this race with a couple of runs back, including a dominant win in Group 2 company last time.
He’s drawn near to Artorius and should get his chance.
Suggested Bet: No. 3 Art Power
Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes – 3rd
Highfield Princess backs up from her brave second in the King’s Stand Stakes earlier this week, and I think she’ll be right in the finish again.
She’s been a great horse throughout her career and something like this certainly hasn’t looked beyond her, while her second placing to Bradsell earlier this week complimented a fresh performance and second placing up at York last month.
With even luck, I really can’t find a reason why she won’t be in the thick of it!
Suggested Bet: No. 14 Highfield Princess
Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes – 4th
Call me patriotic, but The Astrologist takes his place in the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes in peak order, and he’s as tough as they come.
He’s banked more than $2.5 million in prizemoney, so this trip abroad is less of holiday and more of a ‘let’s see how he measures up’, and he’s been very good.
Unlucky not to win the Al Quoz Sprint in the Middle East, it’s fair to say The Astrologist was flat in his UK debut, but he completed his lead-up to this race with a nice effort for second in Group 3 company at Haydock.
Suggested Bet: No. 12 The Astrologist
