Dominant Eagle Farm winner Ready For Danger is headed to Sydney after his impressive win in the TAB Handicap.
Jockey Jim Byrne dropped Ready For Danger ($4.80) into a perfect spot running third after an early speed battle and came away to beat Pleased ($4.20) by 2-/4 lengths.
Trainer Matt Dunn said Ready For Danger had been racing well in good company without any luck.
“He ran second in the Murwillumbah Cup three runs back where he had no luck and that was the story for his next two starts. He really did deserve a win today,” Dunn said.
He said Ready For Danger would now head to Rosehill for the Country Classic (2000m) in three weeks.
“We might have a few in it and it is worth a bit of money. One thing the 2000m won’t bother him and he should get in with a fair weight,” Dunn said.
Ready For Danger lifted his prizemoney past $200,000 with the Eagle Farm win and should have no trouble getting into the Country Classic field.
Winning jockey Jim Byrne said the early pace battle had been tough but Ready For Danger eventually got a perfect run.
“He was going to win along way out,” Byrne said.
