The speedy mare, one of four Moreira rides on the day for the powerful Hayes/Dabernig team, will be looking to go one better having been edged out by Precious Gem here 12 months ago.

The Brazilian arrives in the city of churches in peak form having booted home five winners at Sha Tin last Sunday including Neorealism in the feature.

He has a perfect record aboard Sheidel having partnered her to an all-the-way win in the Oakleigh Plate back in February having also scored on her on Derby Day last year.

Given more than a month between runs to iron out a ‘few issues’, trainer David Hayes seemed delighted to have secured the booking and we’re expecting to see plenty of big hitters backing the Magic Man.

Co-favourite English drops back to the six furlongs after she could only finish sixth behind Tivaci in defence of the All Aged Stakes title.

It took an incredible surge from Chautauqua to deny her in the TJ Smith and the field she confronts here arguably doesn’t have anything to match what that horse is capable of.

Having spent time in Melbourne in the lead-up, the mare seems happy and relaxed with Ben Pelham replacing the suspended Blake Shinn in the saddle.

The stable were typically confident with Adrian Bott declaring that there’s not another mare who could ‘live with her’ on that run, but it remains to be seen if she can live up to that assertion.

Super Cash has had a decent let-up since the Newmarket but came through a recent trial in excellent order and her fresh record warrants respect.

She beat a capable field including the likes of Chautauqua and Hellbent in the Rubiton and Katelyn Mallyon has had some real success for the Noblet camp of late.

Often a tad underrated in betting, we think this horse has found her right price at around the 8.00 mark and are happy to accommodate backers.

I Am A Star was amongst the beaten brigade in the Rubiton but went on to record back-to-back wins in the Kewney and Sunline Stakes.

From an ideal draw in two, expect her to race in the first half dozen under the urgings of Dean Yendall and give herself every chance.

We’re a little bit put off by the average record of three-year-old horses in this race over the past few years, but she’s definitely a horse to be included in exotics.

With a number of prominent interstate stables represented, Lloyd Kennewell’s Viddora might offer the best hope of keeping the trophy in South Australia.

She won the Irwin Stakes here in decisive fashion a fortnight ago but our Adelaide form man hasn’t really been taken by what he’s seen this season from some of the local horses and there looks to be a bit of a gulf in class.

Of the others, Secret Agenda comes off a strong win in the Sapphire Stakes at Randwick.

She’ll likely get back from the draw (17) but if they overdo it in front, look for her to be powering home.
