Race 1 – 12:20pm – The Agency Real Estate Handicap (1300m)

Kir Royale faces a rise in class at Rosehill on Saturday, but she has won each of her last two starts in impressive fashion, and this does look the next logical step for her.

The I Am Invincible filly finished second, beaten half a length at Gosford when resuming in November and hasn’t looked back, breaking her maiden at Randwick-Kensington before saluting again at Canterbury last time.

Race 2 – 12:55pm – Davali Handicap (1100m)

All but one of the eleven confirmed starters in Race 2 will be on debut and at publish, several are prominent in betting.

There is simply too much that can happen in a race like this one for my liking, and I am happy to stay out.

Race 3 – 1:30pm – Highway Handicap (1500m)

Banju recorded a lovely win in a Highway race at Randwick-Kensington a fortnight ago, and he looks well placed to make it two in a row this weekend.

The Benfica gelding finished midfield at Newcastle when resuming, but responded with a big performance to only just miss in a photo finish on the main track at Randwick, second-up.

He steps out this week rock-hard fit, he just requires some luck in running after drawing wide.

Race 4 – 2:05pm – Midway Handicap (1200m)

I’m going to give Saquon another chance to strike in this week’s Midway Handicap.

Saquon has been a good horse for the Paul Perry stable since debuting, and he picked off one of these races here at Rosehill in November.

He followed up that performance with another close-up effort for second over 1500m at Newcastle, while he was last seen finishing midfield over a mile.

I like that he is four weeks between runs, I think that the drop in trip will prove beneficial and we can have an each-way play at the price.

Race 5 – 2:40pm – Hyland Race Colours Handicap (2000m)

Dhakuri is chasing a hat-trick when he steps out at Rosehill on Saturday, and he looks well placed to pull it off.

The Contributer gelding broke back into the winner’s stall via a dominant display at the midweeks in early December, and he franked that performance with another eye-catching win at Randwick on Boxing Day, beating home the like of Niffler.

The 2000m looks ideal at this point of his preparation and with even luck, I can’t find a reason why he won’t be in the finish.

Race 6 – 3:15pm – ACY Securities Handicap (1500m)

For Valour is arguably in career-best form this time, and I am happy to stick with him as he bids for another win at Rosehill on Saturday.

The Zoustar gelding has only missed placing twice in ten career starts so far, and he has amassed an impressive four wins from his last five trips to the races.

This looks to be about his level, and a repeat of his last-start performance and win would see him into the finish once more.

Race 7 – 3:55pm – Schweppes Handicap (1100m)

He went somewhat amiss last time in, but I was very impressed with The Bopper’s first-up effort and win at Randwick last month, and I am confident that he can go on with it on Saturday.

The Nicconi gelding stamped himself as a horse to follow during his three-year-old season, peaking with a nice win in Listed company.

He beat home to talented and fit horses in a race that was not dissimilar to this one in December, and any improvement would find him extremely difficult to beat again.

Race 8 – 4:35pm – Ranvet Handicap (1350m)

This is one of the tougher races on the program to analyse, and there looks to be many key winning chances, in my opinion.

That being said, I think that Super Effort harbours the most improvement, and I am going to have something on him.

The Reward For Effort gelding has been a consistent performer at this level throughout his career, and he recorded a smart city win in BM72 company most notably last time.

He returned to the races with a nice effort to fill the minors, beaten only a length at Randwick last month, and the rise in trip should suit.

Race 9 – 5:20pm – Rosehill Bowling Club Handicap (1200m)

This race looks to be made up primarily of competitive Wednesday-grade horses, and I think that a horse like Fastconi can win.

Fastconi hasn’t won since July, but he has raced well around some talented gallopers, and he is rarely far away.

He was comfortably beaten by the talented Dragonstone first-up on New Year’s Day, but there isn’t a horse of that calibre engaged this week, and we can have an each-way play on this bloke.

Race 10 – 6:00pm – NED Whiskey Handicap (1100m)

Steel Diamond can win the last at Rosehill on Saturday.

The Star Witness mare ended her last prep in consistent form and often filled the minors behind good ones.

Her resuming effort this time saw her flash late to finish third, beaten half a length by Lady Of Luxury at Randwick, and any improvement on that run would see her into the finish again.
