Race 1 – 2:00pm – Harry Angel @ Darley Handicap (1100m)

Just two of the seven confirmed starters in the first at Rosehill on Saturday have previous experience and at publish, debutant Calgary Stampede is a pretty firm favourite.

I am happy to stay out of this one from a betting perspective.

Race 2 – 2:35pm – Vinery Handicap (1400m)

This is a wide-open contest with plenty of winning chances, including Podium.

Podium has made two appearances at the races since debuting, filling the minors behind Ka Bling at Wyong on debut and finishing second at Warwick Farm last time.

Kerrin McEvoy rides from a good draw and we can have an each-way play at the double-figure price.

Race 3 – 3:10pm – Precise Fire Handicap (1200m)

This is a rise in class for Comrade Rosa, but she couldn’t have been more impressive on debut, and it does look the next logical step.

The Capitalist filly showed ability at the trials prior to debuting and franked the form with a dominant effort and victory at Kembla Grange.

He’ll only improve for that effort and has the notable advantage of James McDonald aboard for this contest.

Race 4 – 3:45pm – Benchmark 72 Handicap (1500m)

Capri Of Tuffy flashed home to finish second at Randwick on Melbourne Cup Day and she can go one better at Rosehill on Wednesday.

The Zoffany mare tuned up with a fair effort for fifth at Hawkesbury when resuming and has finished second at each of her three subsequent starts.

She’s rock-hard fit, drawn ideally and gets into this race well under the conditions.

Race 5 – 4:20pm – Ranvet Handicap (1800m)

Zudin recorded an impressive victory at Canterbury last time out and gets the chance to notch another at Rosehill this week.

The well-bred gelding has returned plenty of quality performances back from a spell this time, but kept his best for his most recent effort.

I like that he is a few weeks between runs and he is another whose winning claims have been boosted by the booking of James McDonald.

Race 6 – 4:55pm – ACY Securities Handicap (1500m)

Born A King will take plenty of improvement into the penultimate race at Rosehill on Wednesday and looks capable of winning.

The Frankel gelding raced well in the UK and Ireland prior to his purchase and transfer to Australia, and he finished a close second behind Too Much Caviar when debuting for Chris Waller earlier this month.

He’s drawn to receive every chance this week and should relish getting further out in trip.

Race 7 – 5:30pm – XXXX Handicap (1300m)

Pascal has recorded two wins from as many starts this time, and he can continue his successful rise through the grades at Rosehill on Saturday.

The So You Think gelding trialled well in the lead-up to his return and put the righting on the wall with a bullish performance at Newcastle first-up.

He franked that effort with another win at Gosford last time, and is ready for a successful transition to metro company.
