Samaready wins the Moir Stakes 2013

Samaready has won the Moir Stakes at Moonee Valley, relegating star Queensland sprinter Buffering to second after he led the field into the straight.

It was the 10th Group One minor placing for Buffering but completed a triumphant comeback for 2012 Blue Diamond Stakes winner Samaready who spent a year off with injury.

Samaready skirted the field rounding the turn and overhauled Buffering to win by a widening margin on the line.

“It’s great to see her look so well and hit the line so well,” trainer Mick Price said.

“It was a really brave, valiant win from the mare.

“I’m really rapt she can race in this company and race away with it.”

Samaready’s career has been restricted to eight starts with the four-year-old the winner of six.
