Snowdens announce end of their training partnership

Father and son Peter and Paul Snowden have announced the dissolution of their training partnership, effective from the end of July.

Issuing a statement on Thursday, Snowden Racing confirmed the surprise news, saying the decision was a mutual one and would allow Paul to spend more time with his family.

“Paul has a young family to care for and we have mutually decided that it is the right time for him to take a step back and be able to focus on them,” Peter Snowden said in a statement on X.

“Since the establishment of Snowden Racing in 2014, we have had some incredible success together and Paul’s contribution to the business will be hugely missed.”

Peter Snowden confirmed his son would officially finish up at the conclusion of the current racing term on July 31 and it would be “business as usual” at their Randwick and Flemington stables.

Team Snowden has trained 29 Sydney metropolitan winners this season and will be represented by Touristic in the Listed McKell Cup (2000m) at Rosehill on Saturday.

They will also have a handy team at Eagle Farm headlined by Coco Jamboo in the Group 1 Tatt’s Tiara (1400m).
