In a big show of support for Perth racing, strong nominations have been received ahead of the highly anticipated revamped Ascot carnival.
A number of Australia’s leading stables are among entries for the trio of Perth’s Group 1 events: The Railway Stakes, Winterbottom Stakes and the Northerly Stakes.
The number of nominations is a return to pre-pandemic levels with representation from 29 different eastern states stables.
The Railway Stakes has attracted 72 entries, the Winterbottom Stakes 80 entries and The Northerly Stakes has 87 nominations.
The Listed Placid Ark Stakes has also received 55 entries while there are 80 nominations for the Group 2 WA Guineas.
The powerful Godolphin team, headed by James Cummings along with Chris Waller, Ciaron Maher and David Eustace, Tony and Calvin McEvoy and Ben and JD Hayes leading the interstate charge.
