TAB this morning paid out customers who had backed Zaaki to win the Cox Plate.
On the eve of his expected romp in the Underwood Stakes, TAB settled all Cox Plate bets placed on Zaaki before 8am today.
Along with win and place bets in the Pre Nominations and All-In markets, multi legs involving Zaaki to win the 2021 Cox Plate have also been settled.
“Zaaki looks to have scared off most who contemplated running in the Underwood Stakes and is $1.28 to account for those who have accepted, which is an indication of his expected dominance this spring,” TAB’s General Manager of Trading, David Beirne, said.
“We’re happy to reward those who backed him in nice and early in the Cox Plate and not just win and place bets but also multis, which is not something we’ve traditionally done.”
Zaaki is the $2.30 favourite in TAB’s Cox Plate market with Verry Elleegant at $7 and Anamoe and Gold Trip both $11.
