Test The World wins again

Test The World might not win by big margins but it seems no matter what is thrown at her, she just wins.

The Bjorn Baker-trained filly stretched her winning run this preparation to four at Rosehill on Saturday.

Those four wins have come with a combined margin of less than a length, with Saturday’s victory in the ATC Membership (1200m) decided in a photo-finish.

Test The World, the $2.60 Luxbet.com.au favourite, led all the way and although attacked in the final stages, she fought back to beat Melbourne visitor Foreign Affair ($10) by a short half-head, with Upscale ($5) another nose in third.

“She looked like she was gone at the 200 metres,” Baker said.

“I did have a question mark over her in the wet ground but she handled it and I’ve got a lot of time for her.

“She is earning BOBS bonuses so we may give her one more run. They are only three once.”

The Henry Dwyer-trained Foreign Affair has been staying at Baker’s Warwick Farm stable.

“Henry and I have been friends for a long time and my horses stay with him when they go to Melbourne,” Baker said.

“It’s good that we could run the quinella.”

Unlike her last win at Rosehill two weeks ago, when Arbeitsam’s owner, syndicator Dean Watt, protested on behalf of the runner-up, Test The World was immediately declared the winner.

That protest had an aftermath, with Watt asked to attend the stewards’ room on Saturday after they had been made aware of audible comments he made to Baker following the objection’s dismissal.

Stewards advised Watt to be careful about his choice of words in such circumstances.
