Racing News:

New Zealand studmaster Rodney Schick admits he is a little anxious with two Windsor Park recruits attempting to enhance their credentials in Australian Group One features.

Vanbrugh and Rageese will stand the next breeding season at Schick’s Windsor Park Stud.

Rageese runs in Saturday’s Goodwood Handicap (1200m) at Morphettville in Adelaide for for trainer Darren Weir while the Chris Waller-trained Vanbrugh run in the Doomben Cup (2000m) in Brisbane.

“It’s a huge thing to have these two young stallions running in Group One races on the same day. Hopefully it can all come together,” Schick told NZ Racing Desk.

“It’s exciting but bloody nerve-racking at the same time. Mum’s going over to Brisbane to watch Vanbrugh but we’ve got a bit going on at the farm so I’m staying home. It’s probably the best place for me.”

Vanbrugh is already a Group One winner of the 2015 Spring Champion Stakes while Rageese is a Group winner and Group One placegetter in the 2015 ATC Sires’ Produce Stakes.

“Either way, they’ve both done enough and will make terrific stallions,” Schick said.
