The 2012 Vinery Stud Stakes is dominated by two runners ‘Mosheen’ and ‘Streama’. Mosheen is coming off a impressive win in the Group 1 Randwick Guineas whilst Streama is coming off a fifth place in the Coolmore Classic where things didnt go her way. 1 Mosheen (7): She won the VRC Oaks by 9 lengths and has come back arguably better as a 3YO. She beat the boys last start easily and has the ability to go forward or back during the race depending on the speed in the race. She is the one to beat and i cant see any other runner going close to her.
2 Streama (3): The only runner in the field backed to beat the favourite. Streama ran an okay race in the Coolmore Classic last start against fillies and mares. Comes into this race with decent form but hasn’t come back as well this preparation as her last in my opinion. Likely to run the quinella with Mosheen but i cant see her beaten the favourite.
3 Appereance (6): Won the Keith Nolan last start at Kembla by a nose over She Goes To Rio. Comes into the race with fair form and it is highly unlikely she can test Mosheen. Happy to risk her.
4 She Goes To Rio (8): Likely to go forward during the race and looks to have more upside than Appearance even though she beat her last start. Arguably the worlds best jockey to ride her ‘Craig Williams’ and may get an easy lead. Could figure in the placings but on class she cant beat Mosheen.
5 Aliyana Tilde (5): Another runner out of the Keith Nolan where she ran third. Got back during the run and hit the line well. Unlikely to figure in the finish.
6 Thy (1): Melbourne runner who has made the trip north. Looks well outclassed here but might be able to run a respectable 4th or 5th.
7 Plumm (2): The horse with the most upside i feel coming out of the Keith Nolan. The tempo in this race doesnt look like it will help her but if by chance they go hard during the run she will be the run finishing off strongly into the placings. Again i cant see her beating Mosheen.
8 Pedrinate (4): Not sure how she got a start in the race. Will run last by lengths.
