Winx has worked home late in a 1000m-barrier trial at Rosehill ahead of her first run for the year in the Apollo Stakes.
The champion mare settled back in the field in Tuesday’s heat with Hugh Bowman bringing her wide in the straight where she made ground on the leaders Nancy and Alegria.
Winx, last week named the world’s best horse on turf, will resume in the Group Two Apollo at Randwick on Saturday week.
Another lovely trial from the great mare Winx at @rosehillgardens, finishing third behind Nancy! #WinxWatch pic.twitter.com/JFSbJISzbM
