Heavy rain on Saturday at the Formula One German Grand Prix all but washed out third practice and left the teams stuck in their garages for long spells.
Less than half of the drivers set timed laps with Sauber’s Charles Leclerc quickest in 1 minute 34.577 seconds, some 21 seconds slower than the best from Friday, around the soaking 4.574km Hockenheimring circuit.
A few others went out for a look but without taking risks ahead of later qualifying.
Red Bull duo Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen topped first and second practices on Friday with standings leader Sebastian Vettel fourth in his Ferrari both times.
Vettel leads Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes by eight points going into Sunday’s race.
