Division rivals both entering a new era will clash when the Atlanta Falcons host the New Orleans Saints. After 15 years in charge of the Saints, Sean Payton stepped down, with long-time defensive coordinator Dennis Allen taking over. The Saints have bolstered their wide receiver stocks, signing Jarvis Landry and drafting Chris Olave to add to the existing offensive core of Alvin Kamara and Michael Thomas, the latter of whom will be returning after missing 18 months with an ankle injury. Meanwhile, the Falcons moved on from franchise cornerstone Matt Ryan after 14 seasons. Former second overall pick Marcus Mariota will replace Ryan and look to build a rapport with budding star tight end Kyle Pitts. The Falcons were a bottom-five scoring defence but have attempted to turn that around with the addition of cornerback Casey Hayward, who will partner with Second-team All-Pro A.J. Terrell to form a fearsome duo.
