We should learn plenty about the Broncos and the Giants this week.
You could make a case that both teams are a sneaky Wild Card chance this season, but with the quarterback position posing the biggest question mark, it’s tough to know what to expect.
The Broncos are rolling with Teddy Bridgewater in Week 1 over Drew Lock, which seems the most sensible choice after the former Panther threw for a career-high 3,733 yards and 15 touchdowns last year.
The Giants are set on Daniel Jones for the time being, but really, the storyline to watch this week is the return of star running back Saquon Barkley, who tore his ACL in Week 2 last year.
Denver’s defence was supposed to be good against the run last year, but the Broncos surprisingly finished eighth in rushing yards allowed.
Speaking of defence, the Giants took some real strides forward last year under defensive coordinator Patrick Graham, particularly late in the season when they won four straight over Washington, Philly, Cincinnati and Seattle.
With home-field advantage and Barkley back, I think the Giants are well over the odds here.
