Sizeable bets and the imminent signing of Sonny Bill Williams has the Sydney Roosters currently listed as $3.50 favourites at TAB to win the 2020 NRL premiership.
Bets of $25,000 and $20,000 at $3.75 were placed on the Roosters last Friday before they toughed out an 18-10 victory against the New Zealand Warriors at Central Coast Stadium the following afternoon.
One TAB punter was made to sweat during the clash in Gosford after plonking $150,000 at $1.04 on the Roosters, which resulted in an eventual profit of $6,000.
Parramatta remain $4.50 after their 26-16 victory over Wests Tigers at Bankwest Stadium last Thursday night.
Melbourne firmed from $5.25 to $5 after thrashing Brisbane 46-8 at Suncorp Stadium last Friday night while Penrith eased from $5.50 to $6 following their 22-14 win against Gold Coast yesterday at Cbus Super Stadium.
