Barrett plans response to Manly chairman

Manly coach Trent Barrett is poised to make a public statement on his future after the club’s chairman confirmed the Sea Eagles mentor is on his way out.

Sea Eagles chairman Scott Penn confirmed last week’s reports of Barrett’s resignation with the club actively searching for a veteran replacement, according to News Corp.

“I’m a little bit disappointed with what was written today. I want to honour what was said that we wouldn’t make public comment on it until the end of the season. But, in light of this morning, I will make a statement in due course,” Barrett said.
